Washington Courthouse Apartments consists of 45 affordable family townhouse units. The building program, as created by the developer, Wallick-Hendy Development, and the Ohio Housing Finance Agency, envisioned a complete rehab to produce an end product of quality, energy-efficient, affordable housing.

As architects, Kontogiannis and Associates is committed to creating affordable housing projects on schedule, within programmed budgets, designed for the end users, and utilizing long-term materials to provide buildings that are as maintenance-free as possible.

The project came in on budget and on schedule and included the following work:

  1. Major rehab of exteriors
  2. Interior rehab
  3. Community Building rehab
  4. Sitework
  5. Upgrades to meet Enterprise Green Communities requirements, including HVAC units, Energy Star lighting and appliances, efficient windows and doors, and other energy saving and qualitative Green Communities benchmarks.

  • New patios and porches at each unit
  • Window and door replacement
  • New plumbing fixtures
  • New kitchen cabinets
  • New floor and wall finishes
  • New forced air HVAC units
  • Rehab of all handicap accessible units to ADA and HC requirements
  • Additions to each unit to make living rooms bigger
  • Clubhouse addition
  • Rehab of laundry to ADA standards
  • Rehab of restrooms to ADA standards
  • Enlarged community room
  • Street and sidewalk repair
  • New landscaping
